This meet hosted by Club Northwest. A minimum of five members on each team (Women's Open, Men's Open) are required to "score", but we will still be able to participate and have tons of fun if we don't have enough people fill out a team. Jerseys are required, but USATF membership is not. Registration fees for ALL members (Free or Full) will be covered by LSRC!
Men and women will race separately during this event (open and masters are combined - there is no master's specific scoring).
Please Register here by Thursday October 5, to serve as an RSVP if you would like to participate so we can register you for the race.
Location: Lower Woodland Park. Enter from 50th St to park in the parking lot. The course starts at the very top of the hill directly to the west.
Time: Arrive between 9:30 and 10am to provide ample time for checking in and warming up. There is no known course time limit other than the Women's race starting 45 minutes after the Men's race, but the large majority of runners will be running faster than 8min/mile in both races.
What to expect: There will be a lot of fast competition in all age categories from 20-70+. The course (something similar to this) consists of a 2k loop repeated to equate to the total distance of the race. It's quite hilly and much of it is gravel or hard packed dirt so shoes with spikes are not necessary. Most road shoes with a little bit of tread will do just fine and are often preferred.
Schedule:
9:30am: Check-in begins
10:30am: Men's Open & Masters 8k
11:15am: Women's Open & Masters 6k

There is also another XC race that is casual happening in the afternoon on this very day, in Arlington. It's possible to participate in one or both events due to ample time between events, but the Emerald City Open is what we will be focusing our energy on this year.
See our XC season kickoff mail for general information about cross country.
