Earth Week 2025: Wilburton Hill Park Restoration

In support of Earth Week, LSRC will be joining Bellevue Parks & Community Services on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 12 PM (check-in at 8:45 AM) to work on removing invasive species from Wilburton Hill Park and helping keep the park healthy.

Wilburton Hill Park is Bellevue's largest upland park at 105 acres, located adjacent to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. Its network of trails serve as an important part of the Lake to Lake Trail and Greenway System and are enjoyed by recreationalists of all types. LSRC has hosted several Sunday field trip runs at Wilburton Hill Park over the past several years.

The City of Bellevue will supply all tools, materials, and equipment unless otherwise noted. On the day of the project, please bring:

• Sturdy closed-toed footwear: Clean thoroughly to avoid spreading weed seeds into natural areas. Common problem areas include dried mud in the tread, and seeds trapped in the tongue/laces.
• Work gloves: If you bring gardening gloves, please clean them in the washing machine on a hot cycle before the event.
• Layers of comfortable clothing
• Long work pants: Please don’t wear yoga pants, leggings, joggers, or athletic tights, as they won’t provide adequate protection for most projects.
• Rain gear, depending on the weather forecast.
• Water and snacks
