LSRC Sunday Field Trip Run (Seattle/UW Arboretum)

  • April 05, 2026
  • 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM
  • 1145 E Lk Washington Blvd, Seattle, WA 98112

Registration is closed

Every first Sunday of the month (except October and December, when we have evening holiday runs) we have a field trip to explore different trails and routes, then get coffee afterwards. We meet at 8:30 AM for the run - most people run up to an hour and head over to coffee around 9:45 AM!

APRIL: Experience spring in Seattle as we run through the Washington Park Arboretum, one of the city's most prized botanical gems! The Arboretum contains over 40,000 plants from around the world on its 230 acres located south of the UW campus. More info on the Arboretum can be found here: https://botanicgardens.uw.edu/washington-park-arboretum/

MEET: Seattle Japanese Garden parking lot (south end)

BATHROOMS: Park restrooms and Porta-Potties in the adjacent playground

ROUTES:

Both routes are hilly. The shorter route is a single loop around the Arboretum across Foster Island. The longer route goes through Interlaken Park, across Foster Island, and loops through the Arboretum. Be prepared for early spring conditions on the dirt/gravel parts of the route (i.e., mud if it's been raining a lot) and/or possible water over trails on Foster Island.

ALTERNATIVE: If the cherry blossoms are still in bloom, you can make your way to the UW Quad to take in their beauty. This would be 5 miles roundtrip and a slightly flatter route. The cherry blossoms would likely be past prime if they're still blooming.

COFFEE: Belle Epicurean
