Every first Sunday of the month (except October and December, when we have evening holiday runs) we have a field trip to explore different trails and routes, then get coffee afterwards. We meet at 8:30 AM for the run - most people run anywhere from 30-90 minutes and head over to coffee around 9:45 AM!
JULY: Starting from Newcastle Beach Park, take in the views along the shores of Lake Washington from the Eastrail for whatever distance you choose! Notable landmarks include the VMAC (Seahawks training facility, 2.2 miles from start) and Gene Coulon Beach Park (4 miles from start). The trail is a mix of pavement and fine gravel. There is also a separate option to do a trail run starting from Newcastle Beach Park and heading into the hills.
MEET: Newcastle Beach Park
BATHROOMS: At the park
ROUTES:
The Eastrail is a great option if seeking a flat, scenic route. The full 6-mile Coal Creek route is a forested, single-track, moderately technical trail with 250 ft. of elevation change - it will be fun and hilly!
COFFEE: La'Bean
